My interests are at the intersection of effective communication and education, where I can focus on how communication strategies support educational knowledge transfer through informal education and with people who often live in rural areas and speak a diversity of languages. As I understand communication to be a way to share common meanings (Yahn, 2001), information transfer benefits from technology as a fundamental tool to share and acquire knowledge. My joy in working and doing research with low-literate audiences is to connect, build, and learn more about interactions, trust, relationships, solving problems, and sharing alternative solutions from different cultural groups.
